My art urges the viewer to question the opinions they may hold on certain Indigenous stories. By creating handmade sculptures and paintings with modern materials and tools, I tell my story while recreating traditional imagery via a modern medium. I utilize bronze and other metals to symbolize the longevity and durability of the Lakota stories. Various types of stone are also incorporated into my work to make use of natural materials received from the earth. The ultimate goal of my art is to educate the viewer on my culture by using a contemporary advantage — to welcome a new way of knowing the traditional stories my artwork represents.
